Developers building AI agents face a foundational challenge that supersedes feature sets and value propositions: trust. The market is new, standards are few, and the vectors for failure are many. Before an agent can achieve adoption — let alone revenue — it has to be trusted. Most haven't solved for this yet.
Treebeard was born out of an effort to enable DeFi lending and borrowing between AI agents — which proved extremely difficult in a low-trust environment. We built Treebeard to begin to address that gap: to help developers build agents that earn trust, achieve adoption, and ultimately generate revenue.
Today, multiple marketplaces, agent directories, and ratings services create a patchwork of trust signals. Treebeard aggregates these into a single composite score — making trust and reputation easier to manage for developers and, ultimately, for end users and consumers of AI agents.
What Treebeard Does
Treebeard is developer infrastructure for AI agent trust. We are building the independent, universal aggregator of trust and reputation signals — across chains, signal categories, and agent types — delivered through APIs, embeddable widgets, and MCP servers.

Our methodology is published in full. Every weight, threshold, and formula is visible and reproducible.
We are not a marketplace. We do not sell or promote agents. We do not accept listing fees. We score them.
Two things worth emphasizing. First: this is a beta. We believe the methodology is comprehensive, but it is open to feedback and suggestions. Second: Treebeard ingests organic on-chain trust signals but also seeks partners developing their own proprietary ratings — whether quantitative or qualitative — to aggregate into the platform. We welcome inquiries from partners who want to make Treebeard better and explore opportunities to cross-promote.
Who Builds This
Treebeard is founded by Patrick Burns and built with an AI-first operational model. Patrick has spent more than two decades building and scaling across enterprise, consumer, and machine-to-machine software — most recently with multiple decentralized lending and stablecoin protocols.
The team includes Skinbark, Treebeard's AI co-founder, and a network of specialized AI agents — Leaflock for analytics, Gondor for marketing — that handle engineering, content, and market analysis.
